Gamblers took home almost half a million dollars in two days in a slot machine that, apparently due to a programming error, multiplied the amount bet by 10.

The hotel and casino Caesars Indiana lost 487,000 dollars before a gambler denounced the problem that the machine was having.

Last July 23rd, Kathryn Ford, from Louisville, Kentucky, realized that something was wrong when she and her husband sat to gamble in two slot machines known as “Extra Money”.

When she stuck a 20-dollar bill, the machine registered $200. She tried to introduce another 20-dollar bill and the same thing happened again, according to her declarations.

Ford said that she put eight 20-dollar bills in the machine and she received certificates for 1,600 dollars in cash, without even playing.

Other gamblers realized the problem. “A young woman jumped form behind me while I was still there. Stuck in a 100-dollar bill, got a certificate for $1000 and left”, Ford said.

The woman and her husband denounced the problem to a security agent of the casino and the people in charge of the place, who established that the machine had activated a switch that adapted it to the Philippines not the United States.
