Michael Jackson thanks with a Casino party

He hasn't spoken since his acquittal on child-molestation charges, but Michael Jackson might sing about his freedom at an invitation-only party on Saturday at the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California.

Jackson's family is planning the party to thank fans who supported the singer throughout his trial, and plans appear to be geared toward an event that will feature some kind of performance, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times. Some of the fans who held vigil outside the Santa Maria courthouse and other selected supporters should be getting word about their invitations on Friday (June 17).

"We don't know who will perform; we're just told the Jackson family is putting together an event for fans they have selected," said casino spokesperson Frances Snyder.

Though Jackson appeared frail in recent weeks and has been bothered by a bad back throughout the trial, the sound and light crew has been scheduled to work on Saturday, and seating for the event is concert-style, according to the Times.

The venue, which is close to Jackson's Neverland Valley Ranch, hosted several of the pop star's family members during the trial. There will be increased security for the Jackson event, and while the gaming area will be open to the public as usual, the party is private and Snyder said fans hoping for a peek at Jackson should not bring their cameras, which are prohibited in the casino.
